County Fair

This weekend is the county fair on Kauai. I'm used to a very 4-H oriented fair and the one here is definitely more community oriented. 4-H is rather small here. Last night we went because I wanted to see the swine show and market steer show. There were 7 hogs shown, all in the same class. There were maybe 8 or so steers. I believe the only other livestock shown here are sheep and goats. I was glad we got to see part of the show and walk through the barn. We went back to the fair this afternoon to walk through the buildings more, ride some rides, and do the petting zoo. It was so crowded this afternoon and we saw lots of friends. We enjoyed our first Hawaii county fair!
