Iowa State Fair

Ok, so I'm finally starting to get posts up from our trip to the Midwest. I'll have quite a few posts, so keep checking back!

We flew into Iowa and spent the first half of our trip there. Curt and the kids headed to my parents while I spent a little time in Washington catching up with friends and enjoyed a concert at State Fair. Thanks girls for a great time and tons of laughing!

On our first Friday here, we ventured to the Iowa State Fair with my parents. I LOVE the fair!!

Our first stop at the fair was Little Hands on the Farm. The kids had a great time planting and picking vegetables, walking through the barns, riding the pedal tractor, and more. The first picture shows Daniel and Hannah as they are starting.

They planted vegetables in the garden and then watered them.

Showing off their goods from the garden!

At the tractor shed, the kids filled their tractors with gas before taking a ride.

Daniel milked the cow.

At the end, the kids sell their produce at the market and receive money to buy something at the store (piece of fruit, cookie, ice cream, etc.). Little Hands on the Farm was definitely one of the favorites of the day.

We checked out the Animal Learning Center and saw lots of baby animals. We were able to watched as the baby chicks were starting to hatch.

An ice cream treat proves to be messy!

We met the Pink Panther.

Clifford the Big Red Dog was a hit!

We had a great, and exhausting, day at the fair!
