Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are extremely blessed with wonderful family and friends and know that God has provided so much for us! While we missed not being able to spend Thanksgiving with our families, we were thankful to spend the day with friends.

Our Thanksgiving started out very early. Our base camp (small group Bible Study) organized "Share the Bounty" in which we prepared and delivered a full Thanksgiving meal to 700 people on Kauai. Individuals and families from our church purchased the supplies and cooked 105 turkeys. Yesterday morning a huge group volunteers gathered at the church to prepare the food, package it, and deliver it to needy families and individuals. 700 people on Kauai were able to get a hot Thanksgiving meal: turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, cranberries, and pumpkin pie. What an amazing way to spend our Thanksgiving morning!! And it was awesome to see people in our church be so giving of their resources and time! Curt and I both helped yesterday morning. We also cooked one of the 105 turkeys. I've never cooked a turkey before but I think it came out ok.

After our time at church, we spent some time relaxing at home before getting together with friends for a Thanksgiving meal. We enjoyed talking with friends while the kids had fun playing together. For awhile the kids were outside, playing t-ball and having races.

Some of the kids enjoying a Thanksgiving meal.

It was hilarious to watch the kids play t-ball. They didn't quite understand how to run the bases or what to do when they were in the outfield. The routine really became someone hitting the ball and then everyone chasing that person in circles.

Running races!!

Of course the best thing about racing was tackling one of the dads at the end!
