Curt & Sarah Rodgers Family: Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! To celebrate this year, Curt and I did something unique and different than we usually do. We went ATV riding! We had a blast and saw even more of the beauty of Kauai. The ride was through a privately owned ranch. There have been quite a few movie scenes shot here including: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Six Days Seven Nights, Jurassic Park, and Might Joe Young. Enjoy the pictures of our excursion!

One part of the ride was a little more challenging down hill slope. The guides gave us a little more coaching on this part. Each of us had to sit on the ATV so we knew what to do if we ended up in this situation...

The opening scenes from Raiders of the Lost Ark were shot in this location below. Harrison Ford used the rope swing in the movie. The original rope from the movie broke about three years ago, so this is a replacement. We could take a swing if we wanted, so Curt did!

The most beautiful spot was the beach of Kipu Kai. We rode to the top of the mountain and it was a stunning view! It's about impossible to get to the beach and it's private property so this is almost the only way to see it. Of course, a couple of movies have been partly filmed here, so it's not too hard for Hollywood. :) It was an absolutely breathtaking view!
