Birthday, Gotcha Day, and a Lazy Weekend

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! To celebrate, we went out to eat at Brennecke's in Poipu Friday night. The restuarant is right on the beach and our table provided a great view of the ocean and of the incoming storm. The food was great and Curt even had them send out a huge piece of ice cream cake.

Friday the kids also enjoyed some painting time. Check out the pictures!

Yesterday was Daniel's "Gotcha Day." It has been three years since that wonderfully exciting morning in a Guatemala hotel when his foster mother handed him to us. Wow! Hard to believe it's been three years! He has become quite the little man since then.

This afternoon we took a family drive to Polihale so Curt could look at some fields. There's a couple pictures posted - Curt wanted everyone to be assured that he does work here. :) It gave the kids (and me) a good chance for a nap. We stopped at Polihale Beach for a little bit. The view is just breathtaking. Since the road to get to Polihale is so rough, it's a rather secluded beach. It's not great for swimming but perfect for walking or relaxing. The beach leads right into the Na Pali Coast. This is definitely a must see on Kauai!
