Today we did some work around home unpacking more of our boxes that have arrived. We also went to Lihue to do some shopping. At the mall there was the Kauai Keiki Story Festival. Different groups and organizations had booths set up around the mall. Daniel did a couple of craft projects, we got free books and coloring books, and best of all, they each got a balloon animal.
This evening we wandered out to Salt Pond Beach in Hanapepe to watch the sunset. We went early enough to give the kids some time to play in the sand, which they loved. They both got pretty wet splashing in the water and playing. It was a little cloudy for the sunset but it was fun.
On the way to the beach, we told they kids we were in Hanapepe. Daniel got really concerned and asked, "But where's Danielpepe?" He thought it seemed a little unfair that there was a "Hannahpepe" but not a "pepe" for him. Curt and I couldn't stop laughing. Daniel and Hannah were in the backseat arguing about it. It went something like this:
Daniel: "No, it's Danielpepe!"
Hannah"No, it's all mine! My pepe!"
We just thought it was ingenius of Daniel to even think about Hanapepe like that. So, anytime people visit us, we'll be sure to take them to Hanapepe/Danielpepe!
It looks like the kids have transformed into quite the water babies throughout the course of this year! All your pictures and adventures look wonderful, even the red dirt stains.
ReplyDeleteDevin's parents come back from Hawaii tomorrow. They started the week off in Oahu and then finished the week at a resort in Maui. I know they did a helicopter ride over Maui. Devin's Mom sent Devin a text today that said this [Hawaii] is one place she MUST visit again before she dies. I can't wait for our opportunity!!
