Ok, so geckos are a way of life in Hawaii. Since arriving last Thursday evening Curt has successfully captured and released two geckos back into the wild. This morning I (Sarah) caputured a tiny baby gecko in the house. At supper tonight, the kids were quick to point out yet another gecko on the wall. He quickly escaped to the top corner of the ceiling and has been hunkered there for a couple of hours now. So that makes the score....Rodgers 3 and Geckos 1.
Yesterday was Hannah's 2nd birthday. Last night we went to Brick Oven Pizza. Great local pizza place in Kalaheo, not too far from our house. Then we came home and enjoyed brownies and ice cream in celebration of Hannah. It was a pretty low key birthday party but we did go all out celebrating with family a couple of weeks ago.
Tonight we took the kids to the pool about a block from our house. They had a good time even though it was a little cool for swimming.
It's 11:00 pm now and Curt's working on assembling a desk. We have most of our furniture now. Our couch and one chair arrived today so we're glad to be having comfortable furniture to sit on. However, as of lunchtime today we are down one dining room chair. In the midst of two kids fighting over one chair, it tipped over and Hannah's weight broke it. After only 4 days in use...
Time to call it a night!
